Background

A Ward Budget City Wide Fund of £100,000 was created utilising existing ward budget allocation to support organisations working across the whole city or in multiple ward areas. This fund compliments the ward funding allocated at individual ward level and offers the opportunity for groups and organisations working across the city to apply once to a central fund rather than apply to individual wards.

This decision covers all wards as application was open to groups and organisations in all wards across

 the city.

Comments/Observations:

In total 37 applications for funding were received. The total amount applied for was £291,951.  Not all applications fully met the criteria and some awards were reduced/modified in line with the criteria set and budget availability.  £100,000 is the total to be awarded spread across a total of 16 projects.

The option not to approve is rejected as this funding is being directed to support delivery of activity contributing to the 4 funding priorities of:

·        Health and wellbeing

·        Tackling the cost-of-living crisis

·        Environment and Climate Emergency

·        Equality of opportunity

These priorities link directly to One City, for all the Council plan 2023 – 2027 https://www.york.gov.uk/downloads/file/9262/council-plan-2023-to-2027
